Results of NHCO Surveys
and Focus Groups
NHCO works to identify and address unmet community and organizational
needs with vision, compassion and effectiveness. From time to time
we conduct surveys to key constituents and use the results to direct
our programming. Below are some survey results:
- Poverty/NHCO Awareness Telephone Survey
(Fall 2004)
- Needs Assessment Survey to Congregations
(May 2005)
- Needs Assessment Survey to Educators
(May 2005)
- Needs Assessment Focus Group with Healthcare
Providers (May 2005)
- Flood Relief Report (2005-06) - As the lead agency among organizations providing services to local
flood victims affected by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, one year after
the event NHCO commissioned Cornerstone Evaluation Associates LLC
to conduct an evaluation of our efforts as well as the overall,
community-wide response to this disaster. From November 2005 - March
2006, Cornerstone conducted interviews with 135 householders, 30
businesses and 10 partnering agencies. An executive
summary (eleven pages) and full
report (67 pages) are available here in PDF format.
- Volunteer Survey (Summer
2005)
- Compassion
Allegheny Year Two, Assessed by Univ. of Pittsburgh (2007)
- On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 16, 2012), we sponsored an intergenerational volunteer project. Ten FedEx employees were matched with 19 kids from YWCA Greater Pittsburgh Tech Gyrls, Community Empowerment Association's African-American Leadership Institute and Beaver County Fatherhood Program, and together they visited 9 senior citizens living in senior high rises. We surveyed the volunteers, and here is what they had to say.
- IVC of the Alleghenies and Accenture conducted a phone-based survey (must have PowerPoint to view results) to its care receivers to improve understanding of IVC’s impact on its constituents. 171 Care Receivers across seven member programs (including NHCO) were surveyed. (2010)
- NHCO Faith in Action Care Receiver Satisfaction Survey (2010)
- Food Pantry Survey - To ensure that no one is hungry. (2010)
- Community Auto Survey - We surveyed 31 people who purchased or received cars in 2010 (2011).
