Internship Opportunities
at NHCO
NHCO partners with local colleges and universities to provide meaningful
internship and field learning experiences for students pursuing
a variety of degrees. Our strongest partnership at present is with
the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work from which we
have had nine students (BASW and MSW) join us over the last two
years.
NHCO coordinates with the student intern, his/her faculty advisor
and the school’s internship program office to ensure that
internship procedures are followed and program requirements are
fulfilled. NHCO works with each student to create a weekly work
schedule to meet the requirements of the internship program as well
as NHCO’s current program and project needs. NHCO offices
are open Monday through Friday from 9 – 4, and evenings/weekends
as needed.
All internships are unpaid, however interns are reimbursed for
work-related travel expenses and they get to work with great people
and make a true difference for their neighbors in need.
