Results of NHCO Surveys
and Focus Groups
NHCO works to identify and address unmet community and organizational
needs with vision, compassion and effectiveness. From time to time
we conduct surveys to key constituents and use the results to direct
our programming. Below are some survey results:
Most recently, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 18, 2010), we sponsored an intergenerational volunteer project. Seventeen FedEx employees were matched with 16 kids from Urban Youth Action, and together they visited 22 senior citizens living in senior high rises. We surveyed the volunteers, and here is what they had to say.
Flood Relief Report
As the lead agency among organizations providing services to local
flood victims affected by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, one year after
the event NHCO commissioned Cornerstone Evaluation Associates LLC
to conduct an evaluation of our efforts as well as the overall,
community-wide response to this disaster. From November 2005 - March
2006, Cornerstone conducted interviews with 135 householders, 30
businesses and 10 partnering agencies. An executive
summary (eleven pages) and full
report (67 pages) are available here in PDF format.
