Volunteer to Help Seniors

Dick and Harold developed a beautiful friendship through volunteering with NHCO's seniors.

Volunteer with NHCO’s Older Adults Programs - These programs support adults, age 60 and over, in northern Allegheny County to lead safe, dignified lives in their own homes.

In Service of Seniors

We are looking for volunteers willing to give older adults the gift of independence. Volunteers drive older neighbors to specific appointments in the North Hills. This volunteer opportunity allows you to drive your own vehicle and works around your schedule! Watch a video to learn more about this fun and fulfilling opportunity.

Friendly Visiting

Volunteers spend time with Older Adults at their home, doing things like puzzles, reading, watching TV, or playing games. If driving clearances are obtained, volunteers can take them out for coffee, lunch, or even the movies! Preferably this would be once a week, but at least once every other week. This does not involve any kind of in-home health care services. Watch a video about this exciting opportunity.
