Deliver Food to a Neighbor
NHCO is looking for volunteers to deliver food from the North Boroughs food pantry to older neighbors who reside in the North Boroughs community. Volunteers will pack the food and deliver it to the older adults’ homes. Volunteers are needed on Thursday afternoons prior to the start of the food pantry. Only volunteer once per month on the Thursday that works best for your schedule!
Connect with an Older Neighbor Through our Friendly Visiting Program.
This opportunity would involve spending time with an older neighbor in their home, engaging in activities such as assembling puzzles, reading, watching TV, and playing board games or cards. Or, if driving clearances are obtained, you may take them out for coffee, lunch or even the movies! Preferably this would be once a week, but at least once every two weeks. This does not involve any kind of in-home health care services. Watch a video about this exciting opportunity.
It’s easy to volunteer for NHCO’s In Service of Seniors: North program. Just follow the steps below to get started. Feel free to complete each step at your convenience or all at once.
