Volunteer Development Assistant

A Volunteer Development Assistant will assist the Director of Development and Communications with various tasks supporting the development efforts of North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO).

Sample Tasks

  • Assist with donor stewardship projects and help maintain donor records

  • Assist in segmenting contacts as needed for development efforts

  • Assist with scheduling donor meetings

  • Assist with generating reports from the CRM

  • Assist with creating corporate partnership proposals

  • Assist with keeping development tasks on schedule

  • Assist with tracking and analyzing data and metrics

  • Assist with researching prospective corporate donors and grant funders

  • Assist with various research projects

Perform administrative support tasks

  • Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with development or sales processes & strategies

  • Excellent research skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

  • Previous data entry, database, or DonorPerfect experience a plus

  • Strong judgment and discretion

  • Highly organized and accurate

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Ability to maintain strict donor confidentiality

Volunteer Fundraising & Events Assistant

A Volunteer Fundraising & Events Assistant will assist the Development and Communications Team with various tasks supporting the fundraising efforts of North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO).

Corks for the Community is NHCO’s signature fundraising event.

Sample Tasks

  • Assist with planning and execution of various events

  • Assist in coordinating volunteers for events

  • Assist with securing donated items for events

  • Assist with tracking in-kind event donations and volunteer hours

  • Assist with keeping event and campaign planning tasks on schedule

  • Assist with tracking and analyzing data and metrics

  • Assist with coordinating live & silent auctions for events

  • Assist with planning and execution of online fundraising campaigns and appeals

Perform administrative support tasks

  • Familiarity with event planning and/or marketing processes and strategies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

  • Strong judgment and discretion

  • Highly organized and accurate

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Ability to maintain strict donor confidentiality

Volunteer Communications Assistant

A Volunteer Communication Assistant will assist the Development and Communications Team with various tasks supporting the communications efforts of North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO).

Sample Tasks

  • Proofreading written content such as articles, blog posts, newsletters, flyers, etc.

  • Assist with drafting & editing copy for social media posts, blogs, presentations, website and other materials

  • Assist in segmenting contacts as needed for communications efforts

  • Assist with media relations activities including the maintenance of media lists, monitoring media coverage and producing a media report

  • Assist with advocacy efforts including the monitoring of social media and other digital communications by partner organizations, other appropriate nonprofit organizations and elected officials; maintaining communications lists and monitoring public sentiment around appropriate advocacy issues

  • Assist with monitoring and responding to social media inquiries and comments

  • Assist with keeping communications tasks on schedule

  • Assist with tracking and analyzing data and metrics

  • Assist with community awareness efforts

Perform administrative support tasks

  • Familiarity with communications

  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills

  • Highly organized and accurate

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Graphic design abilities/experience a plus

  • Experience with Social media platforms and Squarespace a plus
